Melica Ladd, SMFT
As a psychotherapist with a background in health coaching, I believe that the body, mind, and spirit are intimately intertwined. Because of this interconnectedness, it is possible for all of us to heal our internal and external systems when we are given the space and compassion for our nervous system to regulate.
I work primarily from an Internal Family Systems (IFS) perspective while incorporating other approaches to fit each client’s preferences and unique needs. IFS is an evidence-based and non-pathologizing therapeutic approach that helps individuals access their core Self in order to better understand and heal inner wounds. I also have a special interest in using Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) as a foundation for helping clients develop insight into and make productive use of their emotions, and incorporate that lens in my work as well. Each of us possesses innate wisdom and we are all the experts on our own lives, and my role as a therapist is to act as a guide, creating a safe and supportive space for you to connect with and explore the wisdom within as you move towards lasting change.
I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families to address a variety of concerns related to depression, anxiety, stress management, self-confidence and self-compassion, life transitions, interpersonal relationships, healthy communication, sexuality, sex and intimacy, polyamory, spirituality, trauma, grief/loss, and pet loss. I would be honored to work with you.
