Dr. Carolyn Versical

It is my firm belief that we all possess within ourselves the potential for healing, growth, and transformation. In my past work in university counseling and in my current practice, I specialize in working with a variety of concerns, including:

·      Anxiety and stress management

·      Depression and burnout

·      Family of origin issues

·      Identity development

·      Healthy relationships with self and others

·      Career concerns

·      Pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting

·      Eating and body image concerns

In addition to these areas of focus, I also have a special passion for working with high-achieving individuals in high-stress, public-facing fields, such as academia, law, finance, media and journalism, and medicine, among others. Common themes include, perfectionism, burnout, work-life balance, living an authentic and values-driven life, and the creation of deeper meaning and purpose.

I approach therapy from a collaborative, holistic, and strengths-based perspective. Together, we will examine the areas in which you feel lost, stuck, or disconnected, and work towards greater growth and fulfillment. In doing so, we will examine connections between present struggles and formative influences, including significant relationships, family dynamics, and cultural context.

Through deepening your insight and awareness into how these conscious and unconscious forces operate in your life, we will work together to create space for emotional healing and growth as well as connection to your core values, allowing you to cultivate a more healthy, balanced, and meaningful life.
